Released April 23rd 1979, Voulez-Vous was ABBA's 6th studio album and the first ABBA album to be recoded at Polar Music Studios in Stockholm. Voulez-Vous is also the only ABBA album to contain a track recorded outside Sweden. The backing track for the title song was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami.

Voulez-Vous is also the only ABBA song to have been officially released as an extended remix promo. The 6.07 version of the track, was released as a double A-side 12 inch single by Atlantic Records in the United States in 1979 and as an extended red vinyl 6.10 remix promo in France. The remix was eventually included as a bonus track on the 2001 compilation The Definitive Collection.

The Voulez-Vous album was released as a picture disc in France and the United Kingdom and as a red vinyl LP in France.
